Europop

Europop on vinyl: danceable pop with a European polish

In short: Europop stands for catchy, danceable pop with clear choruses and electronic sheen, the kind that came out of Europe and into the charts. The term reaches from nineties pop bands to today’s stars whose songs are reworked as remixes for the clubs. The Vinyl Room currently has 11 Europop records.

What is Europop?

Two decades of pop: the Danish-Norwegian group Aqua is here with their debut “Aquarium”, and from the eighties comes Wham!’s “The Final”, George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s farewell compilation.

Club and charts: Lady Gaga with the remixes of “Just Dance”, Róisín Murphy with “You Know Me Better”, Little Boots with “Remedy”, plus P!nk, Ke$ha and Jess Glynne.
