What makes Transgressive Records special?

An ear for new voices: Arlo Parks won the Mercury Prize with her first album “Collapsed In Sunbeams” (2021). Alongside her come Alvvays from Canada with “Blue Rev”, Julia Jacklin from Australia with “Pre Pleasure” and The Antlers with “Green To Gold”.

Established names take their own path here too: Damon Albarn, the voice of Blur and Gorillaz, released his solo album “The Nearer The Fountain, More Pure The Stream Flows” on Transgressive. And with “Transmissions” the label released a retrospective of Beverly Glenn-Copeland, whose music reached a new, larger audience through a late rediscovery.
