Indie Pop

Indie pop on vinyl: melodies from independent minds

In short: Indie pop began in Britain in the eighties as guitar pop on small independent labels. Today the term broadly stands for melodic pop in that tradition – with guitars, synthesizers or both, from small labels all the way to the charts. The Vinyl Room currently has 71 indie pop records.

What is indie pop?

From many countries: Belle & Sebastian with “A Bit Of Previous”, Mazzy Star with “So Tonight That I Might See”, Angel Olsen with “My Woman”, Snail Mail with “Valentine” and Lorde with “Solar Power”.
