How often?

Kashmir on vinyl: Copenhagen rock, with Bowie and Lou Reed

In short: Kashmir were founded in Copenhagen in the early nineties and are regarded as one of Denmark’s most successful rock bands. Singer Kasper Eistrup wrote their melancholy, often anthemic songs between alternative rock and art rock. The Vinyl Room currently has 6 Kashmir records.

What makes Kashmir special?

With “Zitilites” (2003) Kashmir became known beyond Denmark too. For “No Balance Palace” (2005) they worked with producer Tony Visconti, and two legends came into the studio: David Bowie sang on “The Cynic”, and Lou Reed recited a poem by Kasper Eistrup on “Black Building”.

“The Aftermath” shows Kashmir live on the “Zitilites” tour, and “E.A.R” (2013) a later, quieter and more experimental band.
