Tech House

Tech house on vinyl: where house and techno meet

In short: Tech house combines the groove of house with the cooler sounds of techno. The style emerged in the British club scene in the nineties and was played across Europe in the 2000s – often on twelve-inch singles and remix records for DJs. The Vinyl Room currently has 45 tech house records.

What is tech house?

From the German scene: Ricardo Villalobos with “Alcachofa”, Ellen Allien & Apparat with “Orchestra Of Bubbles” and Modeselektor with “Monkeytown”.

Remixes and club classics: Sasha and John Digweed with “Communicate”, Daft Punk with “Burnin'”, remixes of Depeche Mode, Moby and Hot Chip and, more recently, Bicep with “Isles”.
