What makes Philips special?

In France, Philips was the home of Serge Gainsbourg. We have “Vu De L’extérieur”, the reggae album “Aux Armes Et Cætera” (1979), “Mauvaises Nouvelles Des Étoiles” and “Love On The Beat”, plus his score for “Je T’aime Moi Non Plus” and Charlotte Gainsbourg’s “Charlotte For Ever”. Music from Jacques Tati’s films is here too.

From Brazil come Gal Costa with “Índia”, Caetano Veloso, Jair Rodrigues and Quinteto Violado; from Argentina Ariel Ramírez with Jaime Torres. And in the US, Philips released records as different as the Sir Douglas Quintet and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins.
