What makes Perception Records special?

The early funk of The Fatback Band: on “People Music” (1973) and “Feel My Soul” – featuring singer Johnny King – you hear the Brooklyn band with tight grooves and horns, before their later disco hits.

“Dancing In The Moonlight” by King Harvest sounds quite different – a sunny pop hit from 1972. And Johnny Hartman, whose warm baritone became famous through his album with John Coltrane, is represented with “Today”.
