How often?

Music From Memory on vinyl: ambient and synth-pop, rediscovered

In short: Music From Memory is a label from Amsterdam, founded in 2013. It seeks out music from the eighties and nineties that hardly anyone knew – ambient, experimental electronics and idiosyncratic pop – and puts it back on record; new recordings come out alongside. The Vinyl Room currently has 6 records on Music From Memory.

What makes Music From Memory special?

Music that missed its moment: Spain’s Suso Sáiz wrote floating guitar and sound textures, and singer Richenel moved between synth-pop and boogie in the eighties. With “Outro Tempo II” the label opens a window on electronic and experimental music from Brazil between 1984 and 1996.

Plus “Criola” by Denis Mpunga & Paul K. and the album by The Zenmenn.
