Moby

Moby on vinyl: from rave to worldwide success

In short: New York’s Moby became known in the early nineties as a rave producer – his track “Go”, built on a motif from the “Twin Peaks” music, became a club hit in 1991. With the album “Play” (1999) he broke through far beyond the clubs, with songs like “Porcelain”. The Vinyl Room currently has 11 Moby records.

What makes Moby special?

Moby mixes techno and house with blues and gospel voices, piano and strings. We have the remix record of “Go”, “Drop A Beat”, a promo edition of “Porcelain” and the remixes of “We Are All Made Of Stars” and “In This World” from the “18” period.

Add “Lift Me Up” and “Hotel: Ambient”, the collaborations with Public Enemy (“Make Love Fuck War”) and Debbie Harry (“New York, New York”) and “Resound NYC” (2023), on which he re-records his own pieces – released on Deutsche Grammophon.
