Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin on vinyl: hard rock, blues and collector’s editions

In short: Led Zeppelin – Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham – formed in London in 1968 and shaped seventies hard rock. Their music combined blues, folk and heavy riffs. They founded Swan Song in 1974; their first album on the label was “Physical Graffiti” (1975). After John Bonham’s death in 1980 the band split up. The Vinyl Room currently has 9 Led Zeppelin records.

What makes Led Zeppelin special?

For collectors Led Zeppelin records are a field of their own: countries, label variants and sleeve details tell the editions apart. The 1971 fourth album has no title – we have it as “Untitled”, with “Stairway To Heaven”. “Physical Graffiti” (1975), the double album with the die-cut house sleeve, was their first album on Swan Song.

“Presence” (1976) is regarded as an especially direct, guitar-driven album, and “In Through The Out Door” (1979) came with six different cover images in a brown paper bag – which one you got, you only saw when you opened it. Plus “The Very Best Of Led Zeppelin”.
