Bruce Springsteen

Bruce Springsteen on vinyl: rock with stories from New Jersey

In short: Bruce Springsteen (b. 1949) from New Jersey tells in his songs of the lives of ordinary people – of work, cars, love and the wish to get away. With the E Street Band he became one of America’s great rock musicians, famous also for hours-long concerts. The Vinyl Room currently has 5 Bruce Springsteen records.

What makes Bruce Springsteen special?

Full of ideas from early on: “The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle” (1973), his second album, mixes rock, soul and jazz into long, playful songs. On the double album “The River” (1980) exuberant rockers such as “Hungry Heart” stand next to quiet, sad ballads.

It gets more personal with “Tunnel Of Love” (1987), an album about love and its doubts. “Lucky Town” (1992) came out on the same day as “Human Touch”.
