Pop Rock

Pop rock on vinyl: melody, guitar and big songs

In short: Pop rock is rock music with catchy melodies – songs that get played on the radio and still sound like a band. At the Vinyl Room it ranges from The Beatles and David Bowie to Prince, U2, Robbie Williams and Jack Johnson. You’ll currently find 365 records in this style here, many of them from the seventies and eighties.

What is pop rock?

Pop rock is less a fixed style than an attitude: guitars, bass and drums, but with choruses you can sing along to. The Beatles set the pattern in the sixties, and in the seventies and eighties artists such as David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, Bryan Ferry and Prince followed. Today songwriters such as John Mayer and Jack Johnson carry the line on.
