Classic Rock

Classic rock on vinyl: the big rock records

In short: Classic rock is an umbrella term for rock centred on the late sixties to the eighties that still plays on the radio today: the Rolling Stones, the Doors, David Bowie, the Eagles. Originally a radio format, it now stands for a whole era. The Vinyl Room currently has 78 classic rock records.

What is classic rock?

Big guitars and big melodies: the Eagles with “Hotel California”, Santana with the single “Winning”, Camel with “Moonmadness”, Jeff Buckley with “Grace”. The Doors are represented with “Other Voices”, Lou Reed with “Set The Twilight Reeling”.

Denmark has rock in this tradition too, partly from later years: CV Jørgensen with “Sjælland”, The Bleeder Group with “Sunrise” and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy with “Dizzcography”.
