What makes Pye Records special?

The Kinks recorded their sixties records for Pye – “Face To Face” (1966) shows Ray Davies as a sharp observer of everyday English life. Tony Hatch, house producer and composer of “Downtown”, is here with his Satin Brass and “Sounds Of The 70’s”.

In the seventies Pye became a home for British soul: Sweet Sensation from Manchester, Real Thing from Liverpool with “4 From 8” and the American Madeline Bell with “This Is One Girl”. Plus Jake Sollo, lovers rock by Janet Kay with “Loving You” and British blues by Shakey Vick.
