What makes Big Crown Records special?

At the centre is El Michels Affair, the project of co-founder Leon Michels: instrumental soul with reverb and patina. On “Yeti Season” influences from Turkey and India blend in, “Ekundayo Inversions” turns an album by singer Liam Bailey into dub, and on “Glorious Game” Black Thought of The Roots raps.

Plus voices: Lady Wray sings soul with gospel power on “Piece Of Me”, and Holy Hive from Brooklyn combine folk and soul.
