What makes ABC Records special?

The Four Tops moved from Motown to ABC in the early seventies; we have their single “We All Gotta Stick Together”. Rhythm Heritage, known for their version of the theme of the TV series “S.W.A.T.”, are here with “Sky’s The Limit” and “Last Night On Earth”, plus Chuck Jackson, Shotgun and gospel from Mildred Clark And The Melody Aires.

Because Impulse! was part of the house, you’ll also find jazz with ABC on the label here: Coltrane’s “Live” At The Village Vanguard, Johnny Hodges and Count Basie. There are curiosities too – such as Lancelot Link And The Evolution Revolution, the band from a TV series starring chimpanzees. In 1979 ABC sold its record company to MCA.
