Elfman’s music sounds like an enchanted fairground: choirs, glockenspiel, playful melodies and a touch of horror. “Beetlejuice” (1988) is an early milestone of his long collaboration with Tim Burton, “Darkman” and Clive Barker’s “Nightbreed” (both 1990) show his darker side, “Goosebumps” the fun of fright.

With “Big Mess” he returned as a singer and songwriter – loud, wild and rocking. “Bigger. Messier.” reworks those songs once more with guests.
